Tectonía Aguada Áreas
Paul Anton
Concept
Tectonías explores how architecture shapes the spaces in which we live, playing with contrasts: the solid and the lightweight, the fragile and the forceful. Through layers of paper, the work combines structure and lightness, creating a dialogue between the fragmented and the continuous. Inspired by the evolution of human dwellings, it draws influences from tectonic architecture, the sculpture of Henry Moore, the Basque school, Japanese semiotics and geology. Its aim is to connect natural shapes with those created by man. In Tectonías Aguadas, water adds a new dimension, symbolising the invisible that sustains form. Its traces evoke the passage of time, memory and the authentic, in keeping with Tanizaki's vision of the beauty of imperfection.

Paul Anton is a visual artist whose relationship with art began as a teenager, drawing comics and exploring visual narrative. During his architectural studies, drawing took on a central role in his life, becoming a tool for expression. A turning point in his career was the recognition of his talent by his brother, an architect and mentor, which marked the beginning of him being perceived as an artist and strengthened his connection with creativity. With a philosophy that prioritises the creative process over the end result, Anton combines an experimental approach with a rigorous technical structure. This balance is reflected in his work, characterised by a constant quest for development and an exploration of new horizons. Inspired both by introspection in his studio and by travel and the spirituality of different cultures, his work captures the essence of his surroundings and the endless flow of ideas that drive him to create.
