Melting White
Teresa Berger
Concept
Melting White is a sculptural ceramic piece that plays with volume, texture and visual illusion. Large shiny drops seem to melt and slide on a soft and spongy surface, almost like a cloud stopped in time. The monochrome enamel accentuates its tactile presence and reinforces the ambiguity between the solid and the fluid, blurring the limits between matter and movement. A work that transforms ceramics into an exercise in perception and contrast.

Teresa Berger is a Viennese designer who explores the boundaries between art and design through ceramics. After training at the Design Academy Eindhoven and working in international studios, she founded her own studio in 2019, focusing her practice on creating functional stoneware pieces that combine sculptural forms, contrasting textures and a carefully developed colour palette. Her process is based on experimentation: Teresa hand crafts each of her pieces and formulates her own glazes, creating unique surfaces that reflect her research into the tactile language of ceramics.
