The “Unbearable” collection is an invitation to explore the delicate tension between the weight of existence and the lightness of fleeting moments that set us free. It draws inspiration from the ideas of Kundera and Huxley to create art that does not seek answers, but rather space for reflection and empathy. Through abstract compositions and layered materials, each work invites the viewer to live in the in-between, where personal context shapes both heaviness and liberation.

Rita Paupério's creative process is intuitive and physical, inspired by observation of the environment and characterised by her use of diluted pigments on raw cotton canvas. She explores the balance between control and improvisation, integrating writing and conceptual reflection into her practice. Her artwork, conceived as "internal landscapes", function as emotional and mental maps open to interpretation, inviting the viewer to project their own inner worlds onto them.
