Rune (I)
Bleg
Concept
Each of these works is part of a series of three paintings where harmony is found in contrast. The straight, precise lines create a dialogue with messy, textured backgrounds, creating a visual tension that invites contemplation. Inspired by the magic of rituals and ancient Norse runes, these pieces evoke traces of an imaginary ritual, etched in stone as vestiges of past times.

With a bold graphic style based on thick and consistent lines, Bleg explores various techniques and uses multiple mediums. Influenced in his childhood by the discovery of cubist and surrealist works, he currently finds inspiration in 20th-century modern painting, graffiti, architecture, and mythology. Bleg creates highly graphic compositions, often representing highly stylized human figures with a marked tendency towards the abstract. His work is characterised by a perpetual pursuit of simplicity, based on a quick yet controlled movement.
